<br /> <br />*Item 3.2.* <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Lori johnson, Finance and Administrative Services Director <br /> <br />DATE: july II, 2005 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Consider Westbound Bids for Finish Carpentry, Exterior <br />Signage, and Low Voltage Systems <br /> <br />Attached is an email from construction manager Steve Chuba with the results of the finish <br />carpentry bids received on July 6 and exterior signage quotes. Also attached is a memo from <br />IT Coordinator Bob Pearson with recommendations for the low voltage systems at <br />Westbound. <br /> <br />The finish carpentry bid is part of the original bid package ten that was rejected due to cost. <br />The original budget for package ten is $155,000, and based on the new bids, without <br />considering alternate number one, the total package ten revised cost will be $134,939.00. <br />Mr. Chuba is recommending that the finish carpentry be awarded to George Cook <br />Construction in the amount of $65,800. This recommendation includes alternate one which <br />is a deduction of $6,700 to eliminate some of the finish work on the interior columns. The <br />second recommendation is for exterior signage; it is recommended that this contract be <br />awarded to Serigraphics Sign Systems in the amount of $18,969. The budget for signage is <br />$25,000. <br /> <br />Further, Bob Pearson as been working with Dave Potvin on selection of all of the low <br />voltage systems at Westbound, and a memo with his recommendations is attached. <br />Consideration was given to consistency of systems throughout the city when determining <br />what type of system was the best fit and what quote would be accepted.
