Bailey to look into this
matter and see where the best places would be for them.

Wm Greupner, Clerk, reported that Wm Brown had asked to have 8 or 10 loads of sand hauled out
of the court house street and have it replaced with clay. It was decided to have the street committee,
Geo Cornelius and G.A. Bailey take care of this matter.

The following applications were made for building permits. Joe Ludwig to remodel his garage. Chas
Jungnickel to build a garage and remodel his home. Central Lbr Co to build a coal shed. A motion
was made by G.A. Bailey Sec’y Library Board, stating that the present Librarian,
st
Louise Bailey was leaving Oak 1 and asked suggestions about hiring a new librarian. She stated that
they had three applications, Irene Kaliher, Mrs. Chas Bressler and Grace Rupprecht. It was decided
to tell Mrs. Bailey that the Council would leave it entirely up to the Library Board.

The Library report for the year July 1925 to July 1936 was read and approved.

It was decided at this time to start working and see what could be done about building a settling tank
for the Water works. The clerk was instructed to write to the League of Municipalities and see if they
would have any plans or specifications to build such a tank.

The clerk reported that the Village funds were very low at the present time and the First Natl Bk
charged 6% on registered warrants. G.A. Bailey said he would speak to L.K. Houlton and Chas Bade
and see if the Village could not loan money at a Cheaper rate of interest.
