It was brought up again at this time that the stop sign located opposite the creamery was not in the <br />right place and the Clerk should write Mr. Getchell of the Highways Dept and remind him again of <br />the danger having the sign at this place. <br /> <br />Councilman Geo Cornelius offered the following resolution and moved it’s adoption which motion <br />was duly seconded by Councilman Wm. A Patenaude. <br /> <br />Resolved by the village council of the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minn that said <br />Council does hereby elect and determine that the amount of all special assessments assessed and <br />levied by the Village Council of the Village of Elk River upon read estate located within the said <br />Village of Elk River subject to the provisions of sale under the provisions of Chapter 387 Laws of <br />Minnesota 1935 which have been heretofore levied by the said Village Council and certified to the <br />County Auditor of Sherburne County, Minnesota for collection on the tax lists in the office of the <br />County Auditor, to be included in the sale thereof, in addition to the minimum amount for which <br />any such parcel of land may be sold as fixed by Chapter 387 of the Laws of 1935 be sold only for <br />the full amount of such special assessment with 6% interest and penalties and that the discount rates <br />fixed and provided by said Chapter 387 of the Laws of 1935 shall not apply to any such special <br />assessment upon any tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the Village of Elk River. <br /> <br />Upon being put to a vote, the result was as follows <br />Ayes – Geo H Cornelus, J.D. Flaherty, Wm Patenaude <br />Noes – none <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared adopted. Dated at Elk River, Minn July 1, 1935 attest Wm <br />H Greupner, D.E. Davis, Pres. <br />Several complaints having been made to the Council that places serving non intoxicating malt liquor <br />were violating the law by selling it to minors. It was decided at this time to have the Clerk write a <br />letter to all the people operating these places in Elk River warning them that if they continue selling <br />to minors the council will be obliged to revoke their license. <br /> <br />A letter was read from the American Development Co. in regards to stop signs which could be used <br />on main street. The clerk was instructed to write to them and find out which would be the best signs <br />to use. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered payed. <br /> <br />N.W.
