Meeting of the Elk River <br />Economic Development Authority <br />Public Art Sub-committee <br />Held at the Elk River City Hall <br />Tuesday, February 18, 2020 <br /> <br />Members Present: Dan Tveite, Sharon Tracy (5:05 p.m.), Mike Niziolek, Ann <br />McCormick <br /> <br />Members Absent: Jennifer Wagner <br /> <br />Staff Present: Economic Development Director, Amanda Othoudt and Economic <br />Development Specialist, Colleen Eddy <br /> <br />Others Present: Matthew Coppersmith, Coppersmith Customs <br /> <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Economic <br />Development Authority Public Art Sub-Committee was called to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />by Dan Tveite. <br /> <br />2. Consider Agenda <br /> <br />Moved by Michael Niziolek and seconded by Ann McCormick to approve the <br />agenda. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br />3. Consent Agenda <br /> <br />3.1 February 6, 2020, Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Moved by Michael Niziolek and seconded by Ann McCormick to approve the <br />consent agenda. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br />4. General Business <br /> <br />4.1 Public Art Proposals <br /> <br />Ms. Othoudt presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Matthew Coppersmith, of Coppersmith Customs presented his revised art piece. <br />Scale is 2” = 1’ with the final art being 10’ – 12’. <br />Members discussed their concerns with the project; the low piece representing the <br />river should be shorten so nobody hits their head, what engineering is needed as <br />there is an underground garage under the proposed area, thickness of the steel strong <br />
