<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />December 1, 1941 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on December 1, 1941 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; E.L. Shadick and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />August Leider asked for a grocery order to keep him until he received his W.P.A. check. He was <br />allowed a $10.00 food stamp book. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by E.L. Shadick approving the list of lands <br />forfeited for the year of 1934 and classified as anon conservative by the County Board. <br /> <br />The list is as follows <br />Subdivision <br />SW ¼ of NW ¼ West of the Elk River <br />SE ¼ of SE ¼ Ex 4 rods on W side 1 acre road <br />Sec or lot two block range <br />33 33 26 <br />34 33 26 <br />Auditor’s Addition <br />W’ly 90ft of lots 3 and 4 ex. Small triangular tract with 16 ft frontage in SW’ly corner of lot 3, also a <br />small triangular tract in lot 2. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by E.L. Shadick authorizing the purchase of two <br />canvas blankets by the fire dept. <br /> <br />A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by G.A. Bailey allowing the following bills: <br /> <br />Elk River Power and Light Co – Power and Light 251.18 <br />N.W. Bell Telephone Co – Telephone rent 10.98 <br />Robert Cornelius – school patrol 10.00 <br />Ethel Lloyd – cleaning 1.50 <br />Lee Slaback – labor 8.00 <br />Donald David – fire call – 30.55 <br />Void <br />Ed Belanger – labor 1.00 <br />Miller-Davis Co – supplies 18.95 <br />Star News – publishing 9.15 <br />Minnesota News – books 14.07 <br />Encyclopedia Exchange – books 50.85 <br />Stamp Issuing Office – relief 10.00 <br />UofM Hospital -relief 8.11 <br />Eklund Drug Co – relief 10.00 <br /> <br />
