<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 6, 1941 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on October 6, 1941 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Henry Olson asked for permission to cut the curb at his residence stating that his driveway was <br />not wide enough. Permission was granted provided that Mr. L.D. Bailey was agreeable as the <br />driveway is partly on Mr. Bailey’s property. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by Frank Nickerson fixing the pay of John Vicka <br />at the Municipal Liquor Store at fifty cents per hour and limiting his time there to one hundred <br />hours per month. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank Nickerson introduced a resolution fixing the current budget as follows: <br />General Fund – 5,800.00 <br />Library Fund 550.00 <br />Road and Bridge Fun – 3000.00 <br />Poor Fund 800.00 <br />Bond 2 mills <br /> <br />Mr. G.A. Bailey seconded the Resolution and it was unanimously passed. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Clinton Walker and seconded by G.A. Bailey to appropriate $150.00 to the <br />Library Fund from the General fund. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by E.L. Shadick granting John P Wagner an off <br />sale wholesale non intoxicating Malt Liquor license for one year. <br /> <br />A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by G.A. Bailey granting the following building <br />permits. <br />Mrs. Eva C. Foley – Move two houses to Lot 11 and 12, Blk 1. Burrel add. <br />Central Lumber Co – Build office, shop, warehouse on E 227 of N ½ of Lot 3 Blk 23 village of Elk <br />River <br />Mrs. C M Babcock – build frame house on Lot 1 and 2 Blk 1 Village of Elk River <br />Nickerson Bros – Build a garage on lot 7, 8 and 9 Blk 2. Village of Elk River. <br /> <br />Mr. F.M.
