<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 2, 1941 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on September 2, 1941 at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Victor Bergerson asked if there would be any objection to his running a water pipe from his <br />home to the water main. He was given permission to do this. <br /> <br />Mrs. Foley asked what could be done about getting city water to her property in Burrell Addition. <br />She was told that it would be up to the property owners in that vicinity to connect to the water main <br />on Princeton Street. <br /> <br />John Kramer applied for a permit to build a small building at the rear of Kramer Café. A motion <br />was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by Frank Nickerson granting this permit. <br /> <br />Donald Hovey applied for a permit to build a frame house 32 ft by 30 ft 1 ½ stories on his lot the S. <br />123’ of E ½ of lot 3 and the W ¾ of lot 2 blk 2 W.H. Houlton Add. A motion was made by Clinton <br />Walker and seconded by E.L. Shadick granting this permit. <br /> <br />The Twin City Milk Producers Assn. applied for a permit to build a warehouse on the East side of <br />the present plant. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by E.L. Shadick granting this <br />permit. <br /> <br />A letter from Gladys Hulbert was read in which she requested that the Council allow her several <br />articles of clothing. The clerk was instructed to inform her that as long as she was working in W.P.A <br />that she should be able to look after her own needs. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed ordered paid. <br /> <br />E.R.
