<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 18, 1941 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on August 18, 1941 at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />A representative of the State Highway Dept. was present and presented plans for approval by the <br />Council of that portion of the new highway #10 lying southeast of Main Street to the Village limits. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A> Bailey and seconded by E.L. Shadick adopting the following <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution <br /> <br />Whereas the Commissioner of Highways of the State of Minnesota has designated the location of <br />Trunk Highway No. 10, formerly designated as Trunk Highway No. 3, through the Village of Elk <br />River as shown upon the plan which is presented herewith and made a part of and <br />Whereas, said commissioner of Highways is desirous of constructing, reconstructing and improving <br />said Trunk Highway through said Village and has prepared plans for said construction, <br />reconstruction and improvement, a copy of which said plans are presented herewith and made a part <br />of this resolution; and <br />Whereas, the construction, reconstruction and improvement of said Trunk Highways requires a <br />change in the grade of the streets in said Village along and upon which said Trunk Highway passes, <br />said change and grade being designated and shown on said plans, and <br />Whereas, it is to the best interest of said Village that said Trunk Highway be constructed, <br />reconstructed and improved through said village in accordance with said plans and the standard <br />Minnesota Highway specifications and upon the grade designated therein; <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved, that said plans and specifications for the construction, reconstruction <br />and improvement of said Trunk Highway through said village be and the same hereby are approved; <br />and <br />Be it further resolved, that said village of Elk River hereby consents to the change in grade of the <br />streets along which said Trunk Highway passes, as designated and shown in said plans. <br />Dated at Elk River, Minn, this 18 day of Aug 1941 <br />Village of Elk River <br />By M.C.
