<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 21, 1941 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on April 21, 1941 at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The Council then proceeded to consider the bids and recommendations of the engineers and <br />thereupon Mr. Shadick introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />Resolution <br />Be it resolved by the Village Council of the village of Elk River, Minnesota follows <br />(1) That the bid of Harold R Caley, Elk River, Minn, for Proposal No. 1 for 8 inch cast iron <br />pipe at the base price of $379.20 be and the same is hereby accepted and that the engineer be <br />directed to prepare a contract and submit same to this Council. <br />(2) That the bid of the Elk River Concrete Products Co. for Proposal No. 2 for 12 inch <br />concrete pipe at the base price of $4497.08 be accepted and that the engineer be directed to <br />prepare a contract and submit same to the Council. <br />(3) That the bid of the American Vitrified Products Company of Chicago, Illinois, for Proposal <br />No. 3 for clay sewer pipe at the base price of $4735.60 be accepted and that the engineer be <br />directed to prepare contract and that the Company furnish bond to guarantee completion of <br />the contract. <br />(4) That the bid of Harold R. Caley for (a) of Proposal No. 4 for 400 cast iron manhole covers <br />at the base price of $1085.80 be accepted and that the engineer be directed to prepare a <br />contract and submit same to this council. <br />(5) That the bid of Harold R. Caley for Proposal No. 6 for jute and lead be accepted and that <br />the engineer be directed to prepare a contract and submit same to this Council. <br />(6) That the bid of the Elk River Concrete Products Company for Proposal No. 7 for concrete <br />manholes, which will include as a part thereof case iron manhole steps called for under (b) of <br />Proposal No. 4, at the base price of $5242.90 be accepted and that engineer be directed to <br />prepare a contract and submit same to this Council. <br />(7) That the bid of the Central Lumber Company for Proposal No. 9 for lumber for sheathing <br />at the base price of $500.00 be accepted and that the engineer be directed to prepare a <br />contract and submit same to this Council. <br />Adopted by the Village Council April 21, 1941. <br />President <br />Attest: J. Clinton Walker, Village Clerk <br /> <br />Mr. Nickerson seconded the motion to adopt said resolution and upon roll call it was adopted <br />by the following vote: Ayes: E.L. Shadick, Frank Nickerson, G.A. Bailey, J. Clinton Walker, M.C. <br />Tesch. Nays: None <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by Frank Nickerson allowing Mr. August Leider <br />$10.00 for Groceries. <br /> <br /> <br />
