<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 3, 1941 <br /> <br />A meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg on March 3rd, 1941 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The following relief clients were present: <br /> <br />L.J. Bethke <br />Chester Waite <br />Fritz Carlson <br />Bert Sweeney <br /> <br />After discussing the cases, a motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by E.L. Shaddick to <br />allow Chester Waite a half ton of coal. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Clinton Walker and seconded by Art Bailey to allow L.J. Bethke a $10 food <br />stamp book. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by Art Bailey to allow Bert Sweeney a ton of <br />coal. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by E.L. Shaddick to allow Fritz Carlson a <br />half ton of coal. The above motions all carried. <br /> <br />A card from Mrs. Eva Henning was read by David Davies. Mrs. Henning requested the council to <br />send her $2 for personal use. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by Art Bailey allowing Mrs. Eva Henning $2. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Myron Booth was present. He stated that he had been out of work for six weeks and wanted to be <br />recommended for W.P.A No action was taken by the council. <br /> <br />M.C. Tesch appointed E.L. Shaddick and F.W. Nickerson a committee to find out what was wrong <br />with the heating plant at the Municipal Bldg. <br /> <br />M.C. Tesch read applications of Mrs. Ida Burgoyne for on and off sale 3.2 beer license at lot 2 of blk <br />2 auditors addition. A motion was made by E.L. Shaddick and seconded by Frank Nickerson <br />granting Ida Burgoyne on and off sale 3.2 beer license. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A letter from Gladys Hulbert was read by G.A. Bailey. Miss Hulbert stated that she had slipped on <br />the ice and fractured a bone in her ankle and that she was in the St. Cloud Hospital. <br /> <br /> <br />
