From Elk River's amazing outdoor amenities to its thriving economic
environment there's so much to love about this city. For years however,
one thing residents have indicated we're lacking is a large community
celebration - thus Elk RiverFest was born in 2018.
The inaugural Elk RiverFest celebration drew more than 5,000 people to
enjoy food, drinks, vendors, kids activities, and live music, all capped off by a
fantastic fireworks display. Elk River's historic downtown is an ideal location
for the event, as residents can patronize the local small businesses along
Main Street, enjoy the picturesque views of the Rivers Edge Commons Park
nestled along the banks of the Mississippi, and engage with friends and
neighbors who all share the same love and pride of our beautiful city.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the inaugural Elk
RiverFest, the city council has decided to continue the tradition on the first
Saturday of July. City staff has gathered feedback and are excited to add
enhancements to ensure this free community festival is bigger and better
in 2019.
J101:
