AGENDA
12-16-19 6:30PM
Time & Place: City of Elk River
Subject: Deed land or dedicate easements in- lieu of Park Dedication Fee
Attendees:
Council
Pat Briggs with Briggs Companies represents Both Owners
1. Saxon Lot
Approximately 700 ft of Waterfront. 3.5 Acres
Sun Rae is open to giving up private ownership of land for benefit of the public
enjoyment. SunRae would consider Deeding land or dedicate easements in- lieu of
Park Dedication Fee of subject property.
2. Two Finger Lots
Approximately 300 ft of waterfront. 2.7 Acres
Sun Rae is open to giving up private ownership of land for benefit of the public
enjoyment. Sun Rae would consider Deeding land or dedicate easements in- lieu of
Park Dedication Fee of subject property.
3. Elk River Lodge Lot
Approximately 420 ft 6 Acres
ERL is open to giving up private ownership of land for benefit of the public enjoyment.
ERL would consider Deeding land or dedicate easements in- lieu of Park Dedication
Fee of subject property.
Easements are less desirable due to Risk Management and Policing of Domestic Issues
and remaining abuse of existing Private Property. Example would the city build a
fence. So public stays off private property? If an easement is granted the public will
stray onto private property. The private quiet environment will no longer be in
existence. Owners are not excited to engage in this kind of relationship. Think about it
this way. What would you want if it was in- your backyard?
