<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />September 3, 1940 <br /> <br />rd <br />The regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday Sept 3 1940 at <br />8 o’clock P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Geo Cornelius, G.A. Bailey, and Frank Nickerson, Trustees; Wm <br />H Greupner, Clerk <br /> <br /> The minutes of last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Geo Cornelius seconded by Frank Nickerson to appoint the following <br />judges and clerks for the Primary election. Day crew – Judges – G.A. Pepin, Daphne Dare and <br />Pauline Kaliher. Clerks Eva Foley and Wm. Greupner. Nigh Crew – Judges Francis Beck, J.C. <br />Anderson, Susan Dare, Clerks – H.J. Pfeiffer and E.E. Chase. If any of the above cannot work on <br />the election board the clerk was instructed to appoint someone in their place. <br /> <br />It was decided to have the water mains on Thomas street put in under a W.P.A. project. The clerk to <br />notify Mr. F. Kischel, Area Engineer, to get up a project for this work. <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Wm Greupner to record the deed for the ten feet <br />of land in back of the Municipal , that was given to the Village by S.R. and L.K. Houlton. <br /> <br />The following relief clients were taken care of – Gerald Sykes – rent 8.00 Mrs. Richard Wruck – <br />exray 5.00 <br /> <br />A motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Geo Cornelius to allow the following bills <br />E.R. Power and Lt Co Light and Power 280.00 <br />N.W. Bell Tele Co Tele rent 7.60 <br />Lee Slaback Labor 5.20 <br />E.E. Chase surveyor 4.20 <br />Donald Davies fire calls 8.00 <br />Ethel Lloyd cleaning 1.50 <br />Davis Bros supplies 19 <br />Harold Keays labor 15.00 <br />Harry Anderson labor 1.05 <br />Robert Moldenhauer lifeguard 40.00 <br />Frank White legal fees 10.00 <br />Wayne Trask Expense of car 25.00 <br />Eklund Drug Co relief clients 6.74 <br />Guy Laplant relief of clients 4.50 <br />Oil Co of Elk River relief of clients 1.00 <br />Mrs. Wilbert Fredrickson relief of clients 15.84 <br />Dr. E.L. Clothier relief of clients 12.54 <br />Donald Dare relief of clients 8.00 <br />The Federated Store relief of clients 2.41 <br /> <br />
