Team and Experience | 17A Proposal for Lake Orono Restoration and Enhancement (LORE) for the City of Elk River <br />SERVICE GROUP: <br />Environmental Planning <br />& Natural Resources <br /> EDUCATION: <br />Master of Science in <br />Biology, Minnesota State <br />University, Mankato, <br />2009 <br />Bachelor of Science in <br />Biology, South Dakota <br />State University, 2005 <br /> MEMBERSHIPS & RECOGNITIONS: <br />Wetland Professionals <br />Association <br />WTS Minnesota <br />Women of Renewable <br />Industries and <br />Sustainable Energy <br />Mill Pond Restoration Project | Champlin, MN <br />CLIENT: CITY OF CHAMPLIN <br />PROJECT DURATION: FEB 2017 - OCT 2019 <br />Alison prepared the Environmental Assessment Worksheet and wetland permitting <br />for this project, which involved the restoration of Mill Pond, a 42-acre pond, and <br />approximately 1,200 linear feet of Elm Creek and an oxbow. The goal of the restoration <br />was to increase both aquatic and upland habitat. Preparation of the EAW involved <br />coordination with various regulatory agencies and regular stakeholder engagement. <br />Stakeholders included the city, Department of Natural Resources, Elm Creek Watershed <br />Management Organization, and several members of the public. <br />I-94 UBOL Maple Grove to Rogers and Brockton Interchange | Maple <br />Grove, Dayton, Rogers, MN <br />CLIENT: MN DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (MNDOT) METRO DISTRICT <br />PROJECT DURATION: JUN 2018 - JUN 2019 <br />Alison managed the wetland delineation and water resource permitting effort for this <br />project, which involved the resurfacing of 9.6 miles of Interstate 94 (I-94) between <br />I-494/I-694 in Maple Grove and TH 101 Rogers and addition of a travel lane between <br />TH 610 in Maple Grove and TH 101 in Rogers. Alison also co-managed the preparation <br />of the Federal Environmental Assessment/State Environmental Assessment Worksheet <br />(EA/EAW), which in addition to the resurfacing and lane addition also evaluated a new <br />interchange in Dayton, MN. <br />Alison Hardwood <br />PERMITTING SPECIALIST <br />Alison has been a senior environmental scientist and certified wetland delineator for <br />over 10 years. Alison’s performed numerous wetland delineations across Minnesota <br />using the 1987 Corps of Engineers delineation manual methods. In addition to wetland <br />delineations, Alison has led alternatives analyses in terms of wetland impact review, <br />led wetland avoidance and minimization studies on numerous projects, and identified <br />mitigation options when impacts are unavoidable. She has frequently used this data <br />to complete the permit applications necessary to obtain US Army Corps of Engineers <br />Section 404, Wetland Conservation Act (WCA), DNR Public Water, Watershed District, <br />and NPDES approvals. Additionally, Alison has completed Environmental Assessment <br />Worksheets (EAWs) necessary to comply with Minnesota Environmental Policy Act <br />(MEPA) requirements.
