Staff brought back additional information on July 15.
Staff is requesting Council direction in relation to service levels for city sidewalk snow and ice control.
Currently, city staff removes snow and ice from approximately 24.6 miles of the existing 52 miles of city
sidewalk. With current staffing levels and equipment the city is unable to complete snow and ice removal
within the 24-hours provided by city ordinance.
Options for consideration are to add the resources to complete snow removal on the full system or
modify the existing ordinance to allow 48-hours to have sidewalks cleared of snow so city operations are
in compliance.
Financial Impact
N/A
Attachments
• None
The Elk River Vision
A PehoMing community 2a itb revolutionary and spirited resourcefulness, exceptional POWERED By
service, and community engagement that encourages and inspires prosperity INAMIRE1
