<br />PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING <br />TOWN OF ELK RIVER <br />March 11, 1958 <br /> <br /> <br />The annual town meeting of Elk River township was held at the court house. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order and A.L. Powell was appointed Moderator. The term of Everett <br />Rathbun for clerk expired. The term of Oscar Engstrom expired and Orville Bernard is moving so <br />another vacancy occurred. It was discussed on gopher bounty and the town will go along as last year. <br />A levy of $500.00 for gopher bounty was raised. The treasurers report was read and approved. It was <br />moved that the money from drag fund be transferred to Road & Bridge Motion carried. It was <br />moved by Oscar E that $3000.00 be raised for R&B Seconded by E. Palmer Carried. It was moved <br />by Erwin Moldenhauer seconded by Everett Specht that $1000.00 be raised for fire protection <br /> <br />A motion was made and seconded that the meeting be held at the same time next year 10:00 AM to <br />4 P.M. It was by Oscar Engstrom and seconded by E. Specht that the business meeting be closed. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Voters Were <br />1. Martin Hinz <br />2. Ernest Palmer <br />3. Hal Moyer <br />12. Ervin Moldenhauer <br />13. Dick Hinkel <br />14. A.L. Powell <br />15. E.V. Rathbun <br /> <br />The polls were ordered closed at four o’clock. The following were declared elected <br /> <br />Supervisor for three years <br />Melvel Peterson 4 <br />Bob Powell 3 <br />Dick Hinkle 2 <br />Clarence Modal 1 <br />C. Thompson 1 <br />O Engstrom 1 <br />John Nord 1 <br />Jesse Ellsworth 1 <br /> <br />
