Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 2 <br /> August 14,2019111 <br /> Robert Buckley, consider a long term investment with schools maintaining. <br /> Mr. Hecker shared the Orono Park Master Plan, stating that the timeline is within the next 2-3 <br /> years to build Pickleball courts and that they had approached the schools in the past about <br /> stripping and will do so again. <br /> Councilmember Wagner stated that the referendum does include pickleball courts. <br /> Mike Mcdonugh,Lowel Street, President of Youth Volleyball Association is looking to partner <br /> with the city to purchase new volleyball nets and standards for at Salk Middle School. Urging <br /> the commission to consider purchasing new nets at$5000,half the cost and would like to <br /> come up with a better plan in working together. <br /> Commissioner Holmgren would like to the Salk Middle School Physical Ed department <br /> involved in purchasing and considering liability. <br /> 6. Presentation — removed from agenda <br /> 7. Action Items <br /> 7.1 Kliever Lake Fields Park Ice Rink III <br /> Mr. Hecker presented his staff report. <br /> Commissioner Niziolek would like to discuss the transportation element in that area to reach <br /> not only Spectrum but also Hillside Park and Trott Brook Park. <br /> Commissioner Soltvedt asked if the current budget will be sufficient to cover spectrum ice <br /> rink. <br /> Mr. Sevcik stated that with the loss of both Lions Park and Kliever Fields Park the budget is a <br /> wash and will work out. <br /> Mr. Hecker shared that part of the agreement will have the priority of snow removal and that <br /> Spectrum staff will have to remove snow at times when the city is unable to. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Soltvedt and seconded by Commissioner Williams to accept <br /> staff recommendation to no longer operate the Kliever Lake Fields Park outdoor ice <br /> rink.
