Next Steps <br /> <br />Project staff continues work on the material FTA will need to change the <br />project's rating from "Not Recommended" to "Recommended" and to approve <br />entry into the final design phase. The target date for submittal of the New Starts <br />Criteria and Financial Plan is mid June. Project staffwill communicate with <br />FT A Region V staff throughout the submittal process to ensure timely review <br />and progress. <br /> <br />Mn/DOT, NCDA, and Metro Transit will review and comment on the draft <br />preliminary engineering validation report by late May. Work is beginning on <br />updating environmental documentation and on Americans with Disabilities Act <br />(ADA) issues at commuter rail platforms. <br /> <br />Project staffkeeps in contact with station cities and counties on design issues. <br />Meetings are being scheduled to address the best location for grade separated <br />pedestrian access to platforms at Coon Rapids and Fridley. In addition, the staff <br />will continue to work with the City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County on <br />issues surrounding the inter-modal station, including the proposed Minnesota <br />Twins stadium.
