I’m responding on behalf of the board and Pastor Dave Johnson. As far as River of Life is concerned, we would love to have a long-term partnership with Three Rivers Montessori (TRM) and think a 5-year CUP is great. We only executed a one-year lease because this level of partnership is brand new to our organization and wanted to take a conservative approach. It simply allows us to make adjustments after one year if deemed necessary. It is our hope though that after one-year we can sign a longer-term agreement. With regard to the space TRM will utilize at the church, we have mapped out as part of the lease approximately 8.000 sq. ft on the north half of the building that is already setup like classrooms. During normal school hours and days that space will be dedicated to TRM activities. They will also have access to, on a periodic basis, the gym/sanctuary area and more frequently the outdoor acreage the church sits on. We hope that helps answer your questions from ROL’s perspective. But it would probably be best to cover things and just do a five year conditional use permit just in case things go well and ROL wanted to extend that lease.
