The Commission recommended staff work with Spectrum <br />to define costs and present potential ice rink ideas for the Spectrum High School recreation facility. <br /> <br />A work session was held with the City Council on May 6 to discuss the city purchase and installation of <br />dasher boards. City Council directed the discussion be continued with the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission meeting on May 8 as the consensus was the city should not invest in dasher boards. Elk <br />River Youth Hockey (ERYHA) expressed interest in a partnership where they would purchase dasher <br />boards. <br /> <br />Staff, ERYHA, and Spectrum officials discussed a partnership to make a rink available to the public, <br />youth hockey and Spectrum this winter. ERYHA proposed to purchase and install the dasher boards. <br />Spectrum would install lights maintain the parking lot and warming house building.
