Chief of Police Bob Olson met with the Council upon the Mayors request in regards to . a $100.00 donation to the Police Dept from the Elk River American Legion Club. Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Cooper to accept the $100.00 donation from the Elk River American Legion Club toward the Police Dept. further authorizatiHG the $100.00 to be used toward the purchase of shoulder patches for the Elk River Police Dept. and instruct the Clerk-Treasurer to draft a letter of thank you to the Legion Club for their gracious donation. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 3-0. Notation to the motion the $100.00 was paid direct to the manufacturzr of the should~atches in payment of the purchases. The Clerk-Treasurer was instructed to contact Marvin George to request his attendance at the next regular meeting of the Village Council November 19, 1973 in referance to the paving of the street in what is now called School View 1st Addition. Moved by Councilman otto and seconded by Councilman Syring approving the loan to the Library Fund from the Revenue Sharing Fund of which shall be paid back thru the Library fund account as earned. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 3-0. , The following appointment by the Mayor was made to fuane Mordal as director to the Civil Defense Organization. The Clerk-Treasurer was instructed to invoice UPA's, Georges Super Valu, Cretex Company Inc. for the 1973 Street Improvements. Moved by Councilman Otto and seconded by Councilman Cooper approving the appointment of the following election judges~ officers for this years village election Novembef 6, . 1973.Mrs. Byson, Mrs. Bernice Carlson, Mrs. Leonard Kokott, Mrs. Rex Oetinger, Mr. Wm. Konop, Mr. Kenneth Nelson and Mr. Leonard Kokott and to pay the hourly rate of $2.75 per hour. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 3-0.
