<br /> <br />RIDULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAI'1BER OF THE VILLAGE OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />October 16th 1972 at 7:30 pm. <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Bartelt on October 16, 1972 at 7:30 pm. in the Council Chambers of the Village Office <br />Building. Members were present as follows: Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Syring, Otto and <br />Hudson. <br /> <br />The minutes of the October 2, 1972 regular monthly meeting were mailed. All members received <br />and read the minutes there were no additions or corrections and the minutes were approved as <br />mailed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson to grant the renewal of the <br />Ea ~les Club On Sale Non-intoxicating Liquor License. Motion unaminously carried by a vote <br />of 3-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman otto to accept the resignation of <br />patrolman Charles R. Swanson Jr. to be effective Uctober 31, 1972. Motion unaminously <br />carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Hoved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson to accept the preliminary <br />assessment roll dated October 13, 1972 prepared by Hills Engr. Co. and to authorize the <br />Village Clerk-Treasurer to advertise in the Sherburne County Star NetaS of a Assessment <br />Hearing to be held in the Council Chambers of the Village Office Building at 8:00 pm. <br />Monday November 6, 1972 for the 1972 Watermain Construction for the Industrial Park Area. <br />Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />The Council approved the recommendation of Village Attorney John MacGibbon pertaining to <br />the easement lease with Burlington Northern Railroad. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman Syring to approve and grant Mr. Chuck <br />Moos request to installed a septic tank for his shop restroom. Motion unaminously carried <br />by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />The Council instructed the Clerk-Treasurer to draft a letter to the Elk River Town Board <br />attention Town Board Chairman stating that November 6, 1972 as the deadline for receipt of <br />the outstanding fire contract and that after that date the Council will consider it under <br />no obligation to continue providing services. <br /> <br />The Council instructed the Clerk-Treasurer to contract the Sherburne County Commissioners <br />regarding the status of the County land fill. <br /> <br />The Council instructed the Clerk-Treasurer to place the following notice in the Sherburne <br />County Star News: It Due to the fact that the Village of Elk River has had to continue <br />maintaining the Village Dump beyond the expiration date of July 1, 1972 for which all durr~ <br />cards were originally issued for a six-month period Only an addition charge will be made <br />for the last half of 1972 as follows: residential $3.00 Commerical $10.00 <br /> <br />Chief of Police Bob Olson met with the Council regarding the need for a patrolman to fill <br />the position of Charles Swanson who has resigned. The Council instructed Chief of Police <br />Olson to contact Robert E. Johnson regarding this opening and to offer the salary of $675.00 <br />per month. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson to award the bid submitted by <br />Meadowvale Builders for the Pole Barn at the bid price of $4,975.00. Motion unaminously <br />carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman <br />Liquor Store bills for payment as presented. ..-!i-eop;z; <br />unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. ~ <br />No further business, the meeting adjourned.~__ <br />
