<br /> <br />REGULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE VILLAGE OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />October 2nd, 1972 at 7:30 pm. <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Bartelt on October 2, 1972 at 7:30 pm. in the Council Chamber of the Village Office <br />Building. Members were present as follows: Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Syring, otto, Hudson <br />and Konop. <br /> <br />The minutes of the September 18, 1972 regular meeting and the minutes of the Special <br />Meeting September 25, 1972 were mailed. All members received and read the minutes there <br />were no addition or correction and the minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson to grant the renewal of <br />Mr. Sherman Sach proprietor of Sach's Riverside Store On and Off Sale Non-intoxicating <br />Liquor Licenses. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Konop to grant George Dietz prop- <br />rietor of Georges Super Valu a parking lot dance permit for one time ONLY October 5, 1972 <br />at no fee. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman Syring approving the Contract for <br />cleaning services of the Police Station and restroom of Robert L Olson. Motion unaminously <br />carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson approving the installation of the <br />500 gal. gas tank to be located east of the shop at the end of the maintence building outside <br />and further authorize the purchase of a new design type pump and instruct the Clerk-Treasurer <br />to advertize for Gasoline bids in the Sherburne County Star News. Motion unaminously carried <br />by a vote of 4-0. <br /> <br />Cliff Lundberg met with the Council in regards to various land sites for a future Library <br />Building the proposed size to be 5,000 sq ft. one story and no basement. <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jones met with the Council requesting that a dead end sign be installed <br />on the corner of 5th and Baldwin and also some type of caution signs along Baldwin because <br />of the number of children in the area. They also asked when street lighting would be in- <br />stalled along Baldwin. The Council stated that they would refer the street lighting matter <br />to the Utilities Cow~ssion. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Otto to add to the Building Permit <br />Fee Schedule a minimum permit fee charge of $10.00 for building construction which values <br />at$3JO.OO to $500.00. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 4-0 <br /> <br />Chief of Police Bob Olson met with the Council in regards to the addition of a 4th man to <br />the Police Dept. he submitted for the Councils review a propsed schedule of hours with a <br />4th man on the department. The Council stated that due to the fact that the Village is <br />limited to the 6% increase they feel that they could not for see another man on the depart- <br />ment at this time. The Council requested that Mr. Olson submit a brake down of outside the <br />village and village in this monthly reports. <br /> <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Otto to approved the list of General <br />Government bill for payment as presented with the addition of$70.00 to George Kline for <br />echanical services. A copy of the list is attached. Motion unaminously carried by a vote <br />of 4-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Konop and seconded by Councilman Syring to adopt the 1973 budget as <br />follows: General Revenue $66,762.00, Utilities ~)7,200.00, Sewer Bonds ~;$,400.00, Fire- <br />men's Pension $120.00, Public Works Reserve $3,600.00, Par~in~Facility $60~.00, Library <br />$6,000.00, Fire Station Bond $11,000.00 PE~A $$,000.00 Mus~c ~500.00, total~ng $112,182.00 <br />
