<br />REGULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE VILLAGE OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br /> <br />June 19th 1972 at 7:30 pm. <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Bartelt on June 19, 1972 at 7:30 pm. in tbe Council Chambers of the Village Office <br />Building. Members were present as follows: Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen otto, Hudson and <br />Konop. John MacGibbon and Bill Mills were in attendance. <br /> <br />The minutes of the JUne 5th 1972 regular meeting were mailed. All members received and <br />read the minutes there were no additions or corrections and the minutes were approved as <br />mailed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman Konop to grant the Eagles Club <br />renewal application for a Set-up License. Motion unaminously carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Erwin Hiltner, Elmer Mord, and Myron. LuIldquiSt representing the Eagles Club met with the <br />Council and asked if the Council had any objection to the Eagles Club applying for a <br />Bingo License. The Village attorney stated that the Village had no ordinance require- <br />ing a permit or license for such and that they would have to make their application to <br />the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />Leon Vassar met with the Council regarding the Village Dump he had two question stated <br />as follows: 1. Is the Village going to close the Village Dump July 1, 1972 even if the <br />PeA has not approved the land fill permit application of Mr. Toth prior to July 1, 1972? <br />2. Would the Village consider leasing a few acres of land at the Village Dump site after <br />the closing of the dump1 <br /> <br /> <br />Dan Greene, representing the Chamber of Commerce met with the Council and reviewed the <br />rious activities planned by the Chamber for this years 4th of July celebration. He <br />also requested the use of the Village Park area for some of their activities, also they <br />would like to hire our life guards for the Beach area from 10:00 to 4:30. The Councll <br />was unaminously in agreement to their requests. <br /> <br />The Council discussed with John MacGibbon, Village Attorney, Noon Realty & Construction <br />Co. violation of Village Zoning Ordinance. After discussion it was deoided by the Council <br />to have John ll.acGib~on contact Mr Noon regarding the violation. <br /> <br />Bob Conners & Jerry Brenteson met with the Council and voiced their complaints regarding <br />speeding violators along UplarJand Tipton Avenues. The Council stated that the Steeet <br />Department would install signs and paint a center line on the curve and the Chief of Police <br />would be instructed to have his department make various radar checks at these areas. <br /> <br />Bill Mills presented his report on the bid tabulations of the Watermain Construction for <br />the Industrial Park Area and recommended the lowest bidder Lamppa Construction Co. be <br />awarded the bid. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman otto that the Village accept and <br />award the bid for the Watermain Construction for the Industrial Park Area submitted by <br />Lamppa Construction Company at the bid price of $50,970.00. Motion unaminously carried <br />by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Bill Mills Village Engineer presented for Councils review the plan for the 1972 Street <br />Improvement project for the Village of Elk River. <br /> <br /> <br />oved by Councilman Konop and seconded by Councilman Hudson to accept and approve the <br />plans and specification and to call for bids on the 1972 Street Improvements with <br />Railroad Drive to be a separate item inorder that it can be deleted at a later date if <br />it is demeaned necessary and to be opened July 10, 1972 at 8:00 pm. in the Village Council <br />Chambers and the Village Engineer Bill Mills is instructed to advertise in the Sherburne <br />County Star News and the Construction Bulletin of this bid sale. Motion unaminously carried <br />by a vote of 3-0. <br />
