<br />A special meeting of the Elk River Village Council, was called to order by Mayor <br />Bartelt on Sept. 28, 1971,. a1;. 8:00 pm, in the Council Room of the tillage Office <br />Building. Members tr esent were Mayor Bartelt and Councilmen Hudson, Syring and <br />Konop. <br /> <br />(.\ <br />l 1 <br /> <br />.~. <br /> <br />Mayor 'Bartelt declared the taking of bids for the construction of the fire station <br />be closed. <br /> <br />Bids were received as follows: <br />Kh1eger Construction Co. Circle Pines, Minn. <br />Olson Comp:l.ny, Minneapolis, Minn. <br />Elview Construction, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn. <br />Adolfson & Peterson, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn. <br />E D S Construction Co., st. Paul, Minn. <br />Antler Corporation, St. Paul, Minn. <br />Loeffel-Engstrand Co., Hopkins, }'T.inn. <br />W. H. Cates Constr. Co., Minneapolis, Minn. <br />Winkelman Enterprises, Inc., St. Cloud, Minn. <br /> <br />$ 96,852.00 <br />106,814.00 <br />98,467.00 <br />107,200.00 <br />101,300.00 <br />94,523.00 <br />108,780.00 <br />99,261.00 <br />119,990.00 <br /> <br />The awarding of the bid will be made at a subsequent meeting. Peter Racchini will <br />tabulate the bids, submit a report and make his recommendations at our next regular <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Dan Greene am Al Froehlich, local insurance agents, presented a schedule shorling <br />present village insurance policy coverages, which will be the minimum coverages <br />when presented for a package bid. The proposals will be handed out to the other <br />local qu~lified insurance agents. <br /> <br />( , <br />,) <br /> <br />Chief of Police olson reported on the complaint lodged by several boys against Ken <br />Van Patten. Olson reported he could see no basis to their s~or.1, after contacting <br />the parties that were supposively involved. Olson reported that Van Patten has been <br />quite strict on these boys and he believes it was retlliation move by them. Diseussion <br />followed on $40.00 in long distance phone calls to the Kjellberg Trailer Park at <br /> <br />Monticello, being charged to the Police phone. Olson is still investigating <br />and will report to the Council on his findings at a, subsequent meeting. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Olson reported that Joseph Zerwas and Martin Koskela have both declined the <br />police officers position. Olson will pre-interview Robert G. Jacobs for this <br />position and if he is interested, will call him:: in for a personal interview at <br />our next regular meeting. <br /> <br />No further business, the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />
