<br />Kenneth Van Patten, regarding a incident involving 2 girls/17 and 18 years old, <br />that the first four named boys had witnessed the evening of Aug. 8, 1971 at Lake <br />Orono North of .the swimming beach. They requE$ted" that t{1e Council ask for Van <br />Pattens resignation. After considerable disiussion, they were ag.vised that the <br />incident would be looked in to and if necessary after both sides of the story are <br />heard, appropriate action would be taken. /) <br /> <br />Larry Peterson was present and asked to be rehired as Clerk-Treasurer, his condition <br />having returned to normal. He was advised that it would be taken under advisement. <br /> <br />Building permits for Elk River Lumber, Elk River Concrete Products (3) and Ernest <br />Slanga were approved. ' , <br /> <br />The Council approved taking down the trees behind Rays Candy, with the owner <br />sharing in some of the cost. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Hudson, to grant a variance <br />for the front yard setback to Fa! th Fellowship Church for the construction of a <br />garage. Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />After serious consideration, it was concensus of the Council, ,not to rehire Larry <br />Peterson as Clerk-Treasurer. <br /> <br />No further business, the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />tJ~~~ <br /> <br />
