<br />Moved by Councilman Hudson and. seconded by vouncilman Otto, suthorizing the Village <br />Engineer to prepare a preliminary engineering ~eport for constructing sanitary <br />sewer and watermain extension from the Vernon Avenue project Northwest on Meadowvale <br />Road to join the existing service on York Ave. Motion Unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Moved by Hudson and seconded by Syring to call for a Public Hearing in the Council <br />Chambers, U. S. Hwy # 16 at Main Street, Village of Elk River, :Minnesota at 8:00 pm, <br />Monday June 21, 1971 to consider the making of the following improvements. An <br />extension of sanitary sewer and watermain extension from the Vernon Avenue project <br />Northwest of Meadowvale Road to join the existing serYice on York Avenue. Motion <br />Unaminously carried. A copy of the resolution is attached. <br /> <br />:' <br /> <br />Lloyd Barthel reported that the fire contracts with the neighboring townships have <br />expired. He reported on standby fees and run rates from the Albertville and. Mont- <br />icello Fire Departments which revealed much higher rates. Anoka Fire Department <br />rates are based on 1/10 of a mill valuati9n. Barthel will draw up suggested new <br />run rates and suggested standby fees for each township based on Ydll valuation <br />with a set minim un standby fee and present his recommendations to the Council at <br />our June 7, 1971 meeting. <br /> <br />Moved by Konop and seconded by Otto to extend the present fire contracts with the <br />neighboring townships until at which time new contracts are drawn up. Motion <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Mac Gibbon advised that the construction of a new fire station would have to be approved <br />by a special bond election and that we could legally include the land acquisition <br />cost and the new fire truck cost in with the bonding. J.t.iacGibbon will secure some <br />prelininary figures and present a report at our June 7, 1971 Council meeting. <br /> <br />A letter was read from the Village of Monticello suggesting that the neighboring villages <br />cooperate in the support of a full-time building inspector to serve all the communities. <br />A letter will be written expressing an interest in their suggestion. <br /> <br />Agreeable to call Glen Smith in to our June 7, 1971 meeting to discuss his absentisism <br />from the work relief program and reasons why he can not secure work and be self supp- <br />orting. <br /> <br />Movea by Syring and seconded by Konop to hire Chester Waite Jr. as Dump attendant: <br />vfages to be $3.00/hr.. Notion unanimouSly carried. <br />~ <br />Moved by Konop and seconded by Hudson authorizing the Clerk-Trease or any member of <br />the Council to attend one day at the League of l~nn. Municipalities Convention with ex- <br />penses paid. Motion unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Moved by Syring and seconded by Otto to have Health Officer investigate the Grover <br />Malrupes' property and present his reccommendation. Motion carried (all) <br /> <br />The building permit applications presented by William Toth and E.W. Calhoon were <br />approved. by the Council. <br /> <br />c <br /> <br />Moved by Syring ~nd seconded by Otto to pay the Village Dog Catcher, Tim Whitney, <br />who will work under the supervision of the Police chier, $4.00/dog.
