<br />The Council approved a building Permit for Elk River Lumber Inc. to build <br />a frame house with a garage. <br /> <br />Councilman Syring made the motion and Councilman otto seconded the motion <br />that the Council adopt the following employee code. Motion unanimously <br />carried. <br /> <br />EMPLOYEE CODE <br /> <br />1) Vacation <br /> <br />After one full year of employment the employee is eligible <br />and given one week of paid vacation, consisting of five, <br />eight hour working days. After two full years of employment <br />the employees eligible and given two weeks of paid vacation <br />consisting of ten eight hour working days. After fifteen <br />years or more the employee is eligible and given three <br />weeks of paid Vacation consisting of fifteen eight hour <br />working days. <br />Vacation time may be accumulated to a total of not over <br />four weeks and must be taken before the aniversary date of <br />their work year. This would permit an employee to carry <br />over two weeks vacation from a previous year. <br />In the event of holidays falling within the employees <br />vacation period the employee is entitled to extra days vacation. <br />An employee will not be paid for any unused vacation time. <br /> <br />2) Paid Holidays We pay each of our employees eight hours at their regular <br />wage rate for each of the following holidays, New Years, <br />Memorial day, Independence day, Labor day, Thanksgiving, and <br />Christmas <br /> <br />3) Sick Leave <br /> <br />4) Leave of <br />Absence <br /> <br />5) Jury Duty <br /> <br />6) Dismisal or <br />Layoff <br /> <br />(~) <br /> <br />Credited sick leave with full pay for full time employee, <br />will be, one day per month, or, twelve days per year, and <br />may accumulate to a maximun of siXty days. <br />Unused accumulated sick leave benefits will be terminated, <br />if an employee leave the Y./1Lt'.ff&re for other employment, is <br />laid of~ or retires. <br /> <br />We will grant a leave of absence with pay for an employee <br />in the event of death in the immediate family, The immediate <br />family Includes Husband, Wife, Son, Daughter, Father, Mother, <br />Brother and Sister. <br />Time allowed that we pay, will be considered to be a <br />reasonable amount, depending upon circumstances, but in no <br />event to exceed three days~ If more than three days are <br />required it will be without pay. <br /> <br />The Employee shall receive regular wages while on Jury duty, <br />less the amount received by him from the Court for Jury <br />duty. <br /> <br />We reserve the right to dismiss a probationary employee, <br />anytime up to and including six months of employment, with <br />or without cause. <br />Employees who have been employed by the Village over six <br />months or more are subject to discharge only for cause, and <br />after proper warning or notice. <br />
