Another subject discussed was <br />whether Utilities should increase their capacity by putting on another unit. <br />It was decided that further study was needed before a recommendation could be <br />made. Utilities owes the Village for 15% of the Net In~ame for 19693 and <br />197'. They would like to make the payments on the 1970- Net Income in four <br />quarterly payments, and would like to PIt." a$lO,OOO to the Village now on <br />the amount owed for 1969 and the balance in the Rear future. This plan of <br />action met the approval of the Council. Also, the the Commissioners and the <br />Council would like to have identiial benefits for their respective employees. <br />The Council decided to send a representative to the Corrur.issions next meeting <br />to try to work out a employees benefit plan which would be mutually the same <br />for the village employees as the Utilities employees. <br /> <br />~~. DeRosier gave his police report to the Council. The ploice car needed <br />new snow tires, so he had gotten two bids, and the Council accepted the low <br />bid. <br /> <br />Mr. Wheaton and Mr. Gongall fram the 1st. Nat'l Bank of Elk River met withthe <br />Council to discuss the future growth of the present central business district <br />in Elk River. They were concerned with the Councils attitude in this area as <br />this would a~,ect 1st. Nationals future plans for either enlarging thiir <br />present bank or building a new bank. They were mainly concerned with the <br />overall thoroughfare plan and the parking problem. Lst. Nat'l would like to start <br />their action before the end of 1971. <br /> <br />1I.r. Wheaton also was concerned with getting".sanitary sewer line and a water main <br />to the industrial park. The Council stated that they would be willing to <br />install a line up to the railroad. <br /> <br />Councilman Syring moved and Councilman Konop seconded that it is the Council's <br />intention to pursue the plan of the Central Business District as outlined by <br />the 701 plan. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Councilman Hudson moved and Councilman otto seconded that the Village purchase <br />a new firetruck from Joe Rosenthal Ford. Motion carried. Councilman Syring <br />moved and Councilman Konop seconded the motion that the Village purchase <br />a fire truck chassis and equipment from General Saftey Equip. Corp. Motion <br />carried. Mayor Bartelt also said that a committee would be set up by <br />Harry Dreissig to get statted on getting a building for the new fire truck. <br />Mayor Bartelt will serve on this Committee. <br /> <br />No further business, meeting adjourned. <br />
