Thank you for allowing us to send our response to <br />you. <br />We ARE NOT in favor of approving a conditional use permit for 13 animal units for the following reasons: <br />- A large kennel area such as requested is not appropriate for a residential area. Neighboring homes are <br />located in very close proximity to each other. There is not a lot of land surface between <br />between neighbors to cut the animal barking. <br />- Dogs do bark. Noise carries. Even brief dog barking when you are trying to enjoy your home and yard is <br />disturbing. <br />- Are the enclosures/kennels sound proof? <br />- This type of establishment would interfere with quality of life, possibly even resale of homes in the <br />neighborhood. <br />- It is stated that animals would be vaccinated in accordance with the city ordinance. Is this just <br />rabies? There are other zoonotic diseases,(animal diseases that affect humans) lyme disease, leptospirosis, <br />heartworm, that could potentially endanger other pets in the area. <br />Thank You <br />
