<br /> <br />Item#8.4.A & B. <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Phil Hals, Street Superintendent <br /> <br />DATE: June 6, 2005 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Public Works Site Improvements <br /> <br />The CUP for the salt/ sand building and cold storage building was reviewed by the Planning <br />Commission on May 24, 2005 with a recommendjltion for approval being forwarded for the <br />June 20, 2005 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Staff has designed the building foot prints and the building manufacturer will provide the <br />engineered plans for the building structure. The City will have to hire a structural engineer <br />to provide signed detail drawings for the foundations. <br /> <br />Two local cast-in-place concrete contractors recommended Ulteig Engineering of Fridley. <br />Staff received a quote from Ulteig not to exceed $2,500.00 for the necessary documents. <br />They also assured me that they can meet our time line. A comparison bid from another <br />engineering firm came in at $5,000.00. <br /> <br />On another related topic, we have started to delivery grass clippings and brush chips to <br />Plaisted Company's site on County Rd. #33 and Proctor Road.
