February 15, 2019 RE: Menards Gate Addition Dear Mr. Carlton, RECEIVED FEJ 1 5 201) Menard, Inc. is submitting a CUP application to add another lane to the yard gate on the north side of the store. Menards is in the process of adding another entrance lane to all store locations so that an automated express lane can be added to the stores for online order pickup. Guests can scan a barcode from an online order and enter the yard without waiting in the line for the gate guard to let them in. A dedicated solution to expedite online ordering and pick up is occurring at all retailers and Menards is making sure we stay competitive. The addition will be 20' on the north side of the existing gate. The canopy over the existing gate will be extended to cover the new lane. Ultimately the existing entrance and exit lanes will be shifted north so the new express lane can be added next to the store building. The materials used to construct the addition will match the existing gate. We do lose eight parking spaces for this project. However those spaces are hardly used and the main parking lot has plenty of remaining spaces to supplement the loss of the eight spaces. We do plan to relocate the existing trees along the northern property line and any trees that cannot be relocated will be replaced with the same species to maintain the look of the existing store.
