Motion carried 4-0.
5.2 Old Business
• No discussion
5.3 Library Grounds Report
• The board reviewed Mr. Sevcik's report. The board would like
clarification from Mr. Sevcik regarding who is responsible for weeding
the butterfly garden,if we have an agreement with them, and what the
weeding schedule is. The board would also like to know if it is Mr.
Sevcik,Mrs. Schake or the board that is responsible for reaching out to
the organization for updates on the weeding and care of the garden.
• The board also discussed requesting that city staff attend the board
• meetings more often so questions about the buildings and grounds could
be addressed directly instead of written reports. For example,Chair
Stoffers brought up the spruce trees that were in the report, she believes
herself and Mr. Sevcik were talking about two different sets of trees.
Councilman Ovall stated that he could reach out to Cal Portner, the City
Administrator to see if he could attend the January Library Board
meeting. The board would also like Tim Sevcik and Gary Lore or a staff
person on their behalf to attend the January meeting.
5.4 Building Maintenance Report
• Mrs. Schake gave updates on the building maintenance report on Gary
Lore's behalf. He was planning on attending the meeting but was unable
to. Mr. Lore expressed to Ms. Schake that he would attend the building
walk through when the board does it if he is given advance notice.
• The roof has been checked and there are no issues. Mr. Lore will assign
staff to look at the windows and see if they need to be re-sealed.
5.5 Library Zones Report
• The library board had questions about some of the updates that Mr.
Sevcik had reported but would like clarification from him in person.
5.6 City Council Report
• Councilmember Ovall stated that the City was moving forward with the
• approved budget.
111111111111 11
NATURE
