Call Meeting To Order <br /> <br />Chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consider January 24.2005 Parks and Recreation Commission Agenda <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER POLSTON-HORK AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER NYSTROM TO APPROVE THE JANUARY 24, 2005 <br />AGENDA. MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Discussion of Natural Resources Inventory Preservation <br /> <br />Commissioners discussed methods of preserving open space and natural resources identified <br />in the Natural Resources Inventory. Commissioner Nziolek stated that the transfer of <br />development rights should be an important method of preserving natural resources. <br />Commissioner Anderson stated that a panel of experts should be brought in to provide <br />insight on strategies for implementing land preservation. Commissioner Anderson stated <br />that cluster developments would be one way to preserve natural resources. <br /> <br />Chair Peterson stated that whatever methods are used, it will have to make economic sense <br />for the landowners or there will be no cooperation. Commissioner Kuester stated that the <br />Parks and Recreation Commission should develop a process that would keep this subject <br />moving forward. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Gumphrey stated that the Parks and Recreation Commission should move <br />forward with the idea of forming a task force and the Council would take it into <br />consideration. <br /> <br />4.
