These two statements are contradictory. <br />OTHER DIAGNOSTIC CATEGORIES AND CLASSIFICATIONS <br />#1 — We will take clients who have a secondary diagnosis of chemical dependency. <br />In the public hearing ResCare went out of their way to state that this wasn't a "treatment <br />facility" but chemical dependency is a concern with these patients, if they go off of their meds <br />and self -medicate these people can be dangerous. <br />#4 —just to reiterate - We may take a level 1 or 2 sex offender. <br />They clearly lied or were not informed of their own policy during the public hearing, we <br />WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS AND WILL FEEL UNSAFE IN OUR <br />NEIGHBORHOOD. <br />CLIENTS WITH FELONIES AND GROSS MISDEMEANORS <br />ResCare response — It would be impossible to say we will never take a person with a Felony or <br />Gross Misdemeanor. It is safe to say we will from time to time take a client who has a Felony <br />of Gross Misdemeanor. <br />This speaks for itself - we WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS AND WILL FEEL UNSAFE <br />IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. <br />ResCare ended their statement with this: <br />"We will not take clients who are classified as Mentally Ill and Dangerous." <br />They cannot guarantee this. Their clients are suffering from Severe and Persistent Mental <br />Health Issues (SPMI). This is a very unpredictable population of people to introduce into a <br />single family neighborhood. <br />If you vote YES, we will be allowing the below into a vulnerable neighborhood, can we <br />afford as a city to take this risk.
