Elk Rivert <br />MunicipalUtilities <br />SMART Irrigation Rebate <br />Elk River Municipal Utilities would like to introduce you to our newly integrated SMART Irrigation <br />Rebate Program. This program was approved in May of 2009. All properties that take advantage of this <br />rebate will qualify for $500 in water credit if their average summer water use history is more than 500 <br />units. Customers that use less than 500 units of water will qualify to receive $250 in water credit. In order <br />to obtain your rebate, please be sure to follow ALL guidelines. <br />1. SMART CONTROLLER (Must meet all criteria) <br />a. Irrigation Association Certified <br />b. Soak & Cycle option included <br />c. Linked local weather via internet, weather station, or an ET water server (WeatherTRAK <br />ET etc...) <br />d. Installed & programmed by certified Irrigation Technician <br />*2009 List of Approved SMART CONTROLLERS* <br />- WeatherMatic <br />- Hunter <br />- Toro <br />- Any others that meet the listed criteria, please call our offices before purchasing your <br />controller, to be sure criteria is met. In the case that new/advanced models are available by <br />retailers, please be sure to verify their approval with us. <br />2. IRRIGATION AUDIT <br />a. Entire irrigated area must be reviewed & deemed "good' by certified irrigation system <br />auditor <br />b. Sprinkler heads must be checked & corrected, if needed, for optimal water savings by a <br />certified irrigation technician <br />*List of Local Irrigation Specialists* <br />- Great Northern Landscapes — Mitch (763) 274-2678 <br />- Advanced Irrigation - Chris Swanson (612) 599-8675 <br />- Any others that are Irrigation Association certified for audits <br />3. SMART IRRIGATION REBATE APPLICATION <br />a. Complete application & return to our offices <br />b. Reimbursement timeline of rebate depends on checking validity of all installation criteria <br />(approximately 2-4 weeks) <br />Upon approval of your SMART irrigation upgrade, your rebate will be either $250 or $500 in water credit <br />depending on your water use history. The credit will be disbursed with $50.00 per irrigation month, for 10 <br />(ten) months for the 500+ rebate, or $25.00 per irrigation month, for 10 months for those with a history of <br />less than 500 units. The rebate program will typically take a course of 2 (two) years for the entire credit to <br />be returned to the user. The normal irrigation season consists of approximately 5 (five) watering months <br />(May through September).
