<br />Park & Recreation Commission Minutes <br />June 12, 2002 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Lanners stated that he was very pleased with the turnout of the family night event that <br />was held jointly with City Recreation and with the YMCA. He estimated that about 200-300 <br />people attended. <br /> <br />The Commission asked Mr. Lanners about how the YMCA programs fees work Mr. <br />Lanners explained that approximately 50% of there programs are fee based and the other <br />50% are membership based. <br /> <br />Michele McPherson suggested that Mr. Lanners return on a regular basis to give the Park <br />and Recreation Commission updates on the YMCA.. The Commission agreed. <br /> <br />9.B.1. Preliminary Plat - Birchview Addition. Case No. P 02-12 <br /> <br />Ms. McPherson reviewed the proposal to replat approximately 17 acres into six buildable <br />parcels. The subject property is located at 207th Avenue, east of County Road 33 and is <br />zoned Ria, Rural Residential (2 ~ acre minimum). An earth home currently exists on the <br />property with the remainder of the land consisting of open space, a large Type 3 Wetland <br />complex, and wood~d areas. A small street (207th Avenue) will be constructed to serve the <br />five vacant buildable sites. <br /> <br />The parcel is outside of any park service areas; therefore, staff recommends the Commission <br />recommend cash dedication in lieu of land for this parcel. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DEWALL MOVED TO ACCEPT CASH DEDICATION <br />AS RECOMMENDED BY STAFF. COMMISSIONER ANDERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />9.C.1. Park/T rail Development Issues: Orono Park Master Plan Update <br /> <br />Chris Leeseberg, City/Park Planner, presented the Commission with a modified version of <br />the Orono Park Master Plan that was presented to the Commission last month. The only <br />major change was that the central parkway was removed. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER KUESTER MOVED TO APPROVE THE ORONO PARK <br />CONCEPT PIAN AS PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER BRIGGS SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />10. Information Update Items (No discussion or presentation unless requested) <br /> <br />A.
