This is taking place sooner than
originally anticipated due to the upcoming construction of the new Public Safety Facility,
which will cause the closure of Orono Road and Gary Street. Ms. McPherson asked that the
commission take a month to think about anything that they would like to see added to the
Orono Park Master Plan and bring those ideas to the March meeting.

Ms. McPherson also informed the commission that the city administrator has asked that the
commission make a determination of what to do with the former Minnesota Sports
Federation (MSF) land. He would like the commission to make a policy recommendation to
the council as to how the site should be used (open space, YMCA, community center).
