ResCare offers residential and support services,
education, vocational training and job placement for people of all ages and skill levels. ResCare Residential
Services focuses on people with disabilities and youth with special needs and ResCare HomeCare helps seniors
who want to age in place. ResCare Workforce Services and ResCare Education and Training Services provide
counseling, training, and job placement to people of all ages with barriers to employment.

ResCare also has a pharmacy called Pharmacy Alternatives that serves people who have an intellectual and
developmental disabilities. Pharmacy Alternatives is in 31 states, including Minnesota.

ResCare Assured is a home monitoring service to help seniors and individuals with intellectual or developmental
disabilities remain safely in their homes and gain more independence. This is another company owned by
ResCare and its services are used in Minnesota.

ResCare Minnesota, Inc. St. Paul
The St. Paul operation primarily serves people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities though they
do also serve some people who have a mental illness. This is often co-occurring with the intellectual and
developmental disabilities. The St. Paul operations manage about 40 small group homes throughout the east and
south metro area.

ResCare Minnesota, Inc. Brooklyn Center
Out specific operation works exclusively with persons who have a mental illness. We are the only operation in all
of ResCare to exclusively serve this population.

ResCare Minnesota, Inc. Brooklyn Center was purchased from a private provider in 2013. The company included
Northwest Residence in Brooklyn Center (started in 1982), Community Options Fridley (started in 1986),
Community Options St. Paul (started in 1996). In 1990, Supportive Living Services was started in Anoka County to
provide Case Management, but by the time of the purchase, the program was an Assertive Community Treatment
(ACT) in Hennepin County.

Since the purchase, we have added three more Intensive Residential Treatment Programs (IRTS) located in
Hennepin County, Ramsey County, and Dakota County. In addition, we have added another ACT team for
Hennepin County and a program that helps clients find housing.

To hire and keep good quality staff it is important to pay a good wage. Due to the program type, we can pay a
higher wage than most types of social service programs. This allows us to hire more qualified staff. We also have
a consulting psychiatrist who provides consultation for difficult cases. He is currently an educator at the U of M
department of psychiatry and consults throughout Minnesota. We have verbal agreement to work with Nystrom
and Associates to provide on location psychiatric consultation on a regular basis for the potential program located
at 633 Upland Avenue. We would call the location ResCare Recovery Residence.

We provide 30 hours of training prior to anyone starting at the location. In addition, we provide a great deal of
ongoing continuing education for clinical staff.
