City of <br /> Elk City of Elk River <br /> Wver City Council <br /> Resolution 18- <br /> A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Authorizing the <br /> Central Minnesota Area Transportation Partnership (ATP) Federal Funding <br /> Grant Application Submittal for the Twin Lakes Road Extension Project <br /> WHEREAS, the Central Minnesota Area Transportation Partnership (ATP) is soliciting <br /> submittals for transportation projects under the federal Local Surface Transportation Block <br /> Grant Program (STBGP); and <br /> WHEREAS, approximately$3 Million in federal funding is available for eligible <br /> transportation projects through this competitive grant program; and <br /> WHEREAS, funding is being solicited for the federal fiscal year 2023; and <br /> WHEREAS, federal funding for projects reduces the burden to local taxpayers for regional <br /> improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, the lack of continuous supporting roadways along Trunk Highway (TH) <br /> 10/TH 169 contributes to congestion and poor connectivity within the area•, and <br /> WHEREAS, an extension of Twin Lakes Road to TH 10/TH 169 along with the frontage <br /> road extension of Yale Street has been identified in the City's comprehensive plan, capital <br /> improvement program, and the 171 st Avenue FAST Study; and <br /> WHEREAS, the planned roadway extensions of Twin Lakes Road and Yale Street <br /> frontage road will improve mobility, accessibility, and road safety for all individuals. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk <br /> River,Minnesota, as follows: Staff is authorized to submit the Twin Lakes Road Extension <br /> Project federal funding grant application to the Central Minnesota Area Transportation <br /> Partnership (ATP). <br /> Passed and adopted this 171h day of December, 2018. <br /> John J.
