Ach, City Planner,/�/f <br />DATE: December 18, 1995 <br />SUBJECT: Park Dedication Fees <br />Issue <br />Consider Resolution No. 95- , amending the park dedication fees for all <br />residential and commercial development. <br />Attachments <br />• Resolution No. 95- <br />• Memo to the Park and Recreation Commission dated September 13, 1995 <br />• Minutes from the September 13, 1995 Park and Recreation meeting <br />• Survey of park dedication fees <br />Overview <br />In 1992, the City Council adopted a resolution which adjusted the park <br />dedication fees on an annual basis by $50.00 for a three-year period. The <br />last adjustment as set forth in the resolution was made on 1/1/95 which <br />brought the fee up to $500 per dwelling unit for residential development. <br />Attached for the Council's review is a survey of other communities' park <br />dedication fees. <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />The Park and Recreation Commission, at their September 13, 1995 meeting, <br />discussed an increase in park dedication fees. The Park and Rec Commission <br />recommended increasing the fee for single family and multi -family <br />development by $100 per lot annually for the next two years. The <br />Commission also recommended increasing the commercial park dedication <br />fee from the current rate of $1,500 per acre to $2,000 per acre in 1996 and <br />$2,500 per acre in 1997. <br />13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
