of <br />E1k'7River <br />May 5, 1994 <br />Dear Elk River Manufacturer, Plant Manager, Property Owner: <br />The City of Elk River and its Planning Commission recently initiated an <br />update of its existing Comprehensive Plan. A fourteen -member Steering <br />Committee was established to evaluate existing conditions in the community <br />and to bring forth recommendations for inclusion in the update of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. This plan will help guide development decisions over <br />the next decade and will be a valuable reference document for the City, its <br />residents, and its businesses. <br />I wish to advise you of the next meeting of the Steering Committee. It is <br />scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 1994 at the Elk River City Hall. <br />The Steering Committee will consider the topic of industrial development in <br />order to develop a section in the Comprehensive Plan on this topic. <br />A portion of the May 25th Steering Committee Meeting will be reserved for a <br />public hearing on various elements associated with industrial development. <br />Topics may include an overview of the existing inventory of industrial sites, <br />the absorption rate of industrial land, and potential areas for new industrial <br />parks -business parks, etc. <br />As a business operator or as an owner of industrial property in Elk River, you <br />are cordially invited to attend this meeting and to participate in the <br />discussion. Your insights into these topics will be particularly welcome. <br />Enclosed for your review is the notice of the Steering Committee's public <br />hearing.
