Steering Committee Minutes <br />July 27, 1995 <br />Page 3 <br />Members of the Committee expressed concern for taking any action regarding <br />changes in zoning or in the urban service boundary, due to the fact that <br />discussion of this particular area was not advertised. <br />CHRIS KREGER MOVED TO TABLE DISCUSSION OF LOT SIZES AND URBAN SERVICES <br />IN THE SOUTHEAST PLANNING AREA. DAVE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />Chris Kreger requested that some type of reference to this motion be placed in <br />the Star News. <br />Parks and Recreation Discussion <br />Rolf Anderson reviewed information presented in Stephen Rohlf's memo <br />regarding the Master Park Plan Update. <br />Discussion followed regarding whether or not there was a need to have a <br />zoning/land use designation for parks and open space. <br />CHRIS KREGER MOVED THE STEERING COMMITTEE INCLUDE THE PARK AND <br />RECREATION COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />UPDATE, AS FOLLOWS: <br />ALL EXISTING CITY PARKS BE ZONED AS PARK AND DESIGNED OPEN SPACE <br />ON THE LAND USE MAP. <br />2. THE LAND USE DESIGNATION ON THE SHERBURNE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS <br />PARKING LOT BE CHANGED FROM LI (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL) TO OS (OPEN <br />SPACE). <br />DAVE ANDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />6. Tentative Schedule of Uocomina Meetings <br />August 77 - Summary of recommendations, map revisions <br />September 21 - Presentation of Draft Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Other Business <br />Planning Commission Chair Louise Kuester requested the Steering Committee <br />provide more information on the proposed townhome zoning designation, and <br />indicate areas where townhomes may be appropriate. <br />Members of the Steering Committee suggested that townhomes may be <br />appropriate for buffering in areas adjacent to U.S. Highways, major arterials, and <br />in areas of transition. <br />Adjournment <br />
