Comprehensive Plan
November 27, 1995
Page 5
As mentioned earlier in the memo, this section of the plan will receive
additional review by the Planning Commission and City Council at future
public hearings.
VII. Transportation
*The main issue associated with the transportation plan has to do with
identifying future corridors for road improvements. A large majority of the
discussion centered en the east -west corridor, leaving little time to the
balance of the transportation plan. During the future public hearing to
review this section, staff is hopeful that the plan can be presented in its
entirety and discussed in a comprehensive manner.
IX. Implementation
*Major changes associated with this section had to do with the addition of all
of the land use designations and zoning designations, along with a brief
description of each of the districts. This section has also been modified to
include a brief description of economic development and the role of the
Economic Development Authority and Housing and Redevelopment
Authority.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council approve the 1995 Comprehensive
Plan, along with all of the attachments and maps, except for Section No.
VII., relating to Parks and Open Spaces, and Section No. VII. - the
transportation element. These two sections will be presented at a future
public hearing and incorporated as part of the Comprehensive Plan upon
approval by the City Council.
s:council:compplan
