Schroeder and Mr. Leeseberg hand -drew each group's brainstormed ideas of land use <br />concepts onto base aerial maps. Each group summarized their following brainstorms to the <br />Task Force as a whole: <br />Chris's Group <br />• Utilize Mississippi River views Michael's Group <br />* Utilize downtown park as a "people <br />launcher", connect the park to Handke <br />Stadium and the rest of the river via a trail <br />• Leave Hwy 10 at grade <br />• Use Baily's Point <br />• Leave Jackson Ave./Hwy 10 intersection <br />as only downtown intersection <br />• Make Jackson Ave. into a Blvd. <br />connecting the north and south sides of <br />Ilvy 10 <br />• Provide employment opportunities north <br />of Htvy 10 <br />• Use Jackson as a tree -lined "feeder" to <br />core downtown <br />• Focus early red.e. velopment efforts north <br />of Hwy 10 <br />• Provide river connections <br />• Consider 'options for intersections on <br />H%vy 10, including leaving them "as is" <br />• Provide. employrr employment'. opportunities north <br />of FIwy 10 <br />Provide transitions to lan'd:.use that <br />protect remaining single fuy <br />n Yhb6ihbods north of Hwy 10; protect <br />• Protect single-family neighborhoods eximng single family homes south of <br />north and south of Hwy 10 HNvy 10 <br />Use Bart . <br />• Continue redevelopment west along Main ° s Point. <br />St. in core downtown <br />Next Steps <br />Ibis. Steinmetz displayed a drift Task Force Redevelopment Plan Timeline onto the screen <br />and discussed with"the group ;the anticipated schedule leading up to final consideration of <br />the Redevelopment Plibx:by the=TasL Force;-HRA and City Council. She stated that City <br />Board Commission and`public input would be gathered in July and August, including a <br />series of publicbp:en houses; (two evening and one daytime in order to provide a number of <br />P"60ti ) forecasted that the Task Force would consider � of the <br />public attendance zi ttons She, <br />Board/Com ission azxd publid' nput in September and that the LIRA and City Council <br />could consider the final"Redevelopment Plan adoption in November. She asked the Task <br />Force ifihey would prefer to reschedule their July and meeting because of [he July 4th <br />holiday. The. group agreed that June 250h would be an appropriate meeting date.
