<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 7, 1965 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River village Council was called to order by Mayor Johnson on June <br />7, 1965 with all members present except Norris. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Dan Bailey, representing the Planning Commission, was present. He said that the Planning <br />Commission is not ready to recommend where the Commercial and Residential zones should be <br />along Hiway 169 in the village. <br /> <br />At this meeting one bid only was opened on construction of sewer on Upland Ave. A.N. Johnson <br />Co bid was for $2476.50 with a check for $125.00 enclosed. This bid included replacement of street. <br /> <br />Engineer Mills was present and upon his recommendation, A.N. Johnson bid be accepted. Upon <br />motion by Bartelt and second by Briggs the bid was accepted. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Clark, representing the Library Board was present. The board would like the village to <br />provide toilets for use of the library help and also the village clerks. This project has already been <br />discussed before by the council. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bartelt and seconded by Hudson to go ahead with the remodeling of the <br />Fire barn as mentioned at the last meeting. Earl Moos is to do the plumbing for two toilets and the <br />Municipal Utilities will stand half of the expense. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Hudson and seconded by Bartelt to approve resolution regarding double <br />land on 169 between Elk River and Zimmerman. Carried. See resolution attached. <br /> <br />At this meeting the council agreed to a pedestrian crossing on Main St from the alley at the Coast to <br />Coast Store across Main Street, also a No Parking sign at the Post office and a yield sign at Third <br />Street and Railroad Drive. <br /> <br />The clerk was asked to write Gallati Bros and Raymond Bernard and ask them to clean their <br />premises of old and junk cars. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Briggs and second by Hudson beer license of Ethel Olson was renewed. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed: <br />Elk River Utilities – L&P sewer 127.77 <br />N. Central Pub Service – fuel sewer 49.30 <br />N.W. Bell – phone sewer 14.35 <br />August Leider – labor sewer 36.00 <br />Elk River Mch Shop – repairs 4.00 <br />H&S Asphalt – mix 61.16 <br />Ind. Hardsurface – repairs 5.00 <br />American Paint Co – zone paint 96.80 <br />Star News 347.40 <br /> <br />
