<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 1, 1965 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was held at the Village Hall on Feb 1, 1965. All <br />members were present. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. The minutes of the last <br />meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Norris and seconded by Bartelt to call for a hearing regarding sewer <br />thth <br />extension on Upland Ave between 4 and 5 Sts. Motion carried. See application. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Norris to put Woodrow Wilson on the black list on <br />liquor and beer places in town. Motion carried. This was for the reason that Wilson has been <br />receiving aid from the Village but has been spending money for liquor. <br /> <br />At this meeting there was a hearing regarding a petition from L.G. Lamm asking for a change in the <br />zoning ordinance on property adjacent to Highway 169 and west of Main Street. The change was to <br />be from Residential to Commercial. Among those present were Frank Nickerson, Jene Kreuser, <br />L.G. Lamm, Walter Johnson, Donald Johnson, Archie Larson, Mrs. Doris Dumke, Richard Gongall. <br />After considerable discussion a motion was made by Bartelt and second by Norris to table matter of <br />rezoning for further study and further information. Carried. <br /> <br />A building permit was issued to Gene Kreuser and to Kenneth Magnuson. <br /> <br />There was a discussion regarding a building code for the village and the clerk was asked to write the <br />league for a sample code. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and order paid: <br />A.N. Johnson Co Architects 2427.01 <br />Fire and Safety Inc – supplies 51.97 <br />Hoglund Sales – repairs 48.50 <br />Star News – printing 151.60 <br />N. Sub Mutual Aid – dues 25.00 <br />Fire Department – fires 147.00 <br />Elk River Hdw – supplies 5.21 <br />Bank of Elk River – ins 583.00 <br />Oscarson Mobile – gas, oil 78.23 <br />N. Central Pub Service – fuel (poor f) 25.23 <br />Judy Greupner – asst 17.75 <br />Farm Bureau – gas, oil 59.42 <br />Fire Chief Assn – dues 9.00 <br />Linda Swen – asst 36.00 <br />Library Acct – books 55.46 <br />Clarence Kramer – janitor 7.50 <br />Typewriter Shop – ribbons 2.80 <br />Star News – printing 7.50 <br />Violet Turner – cleaning 15.00 <br />George Moos – police 32.46 <br /> <br />
