Economic Development Authority Minutes Page 2 <br />September 17, 2018 <br />----------------------------- <br /> <br />6.1 Beautification Award Presentation <br /> <br />Tamara Ackerman, representing the Elk River Beautification Committee, indicated <br />the committee is recommending Beautification Awards be presented to Elk River <br />Senior Living for substantial improvements to the exterior and/or landscaping and <br />to the Freeport Business Center for consistently maintaining their property in an <br />attractive and well-kept manner. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Olsen and seconded by Commissioner Wagner to <br />approve the recommendation from the Beautification Committee to present <br />the award to Elk River Senior Living for substantial improvements to the <br />exterior and/or landscaping of their property. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Westgaard and seconded by Commissioner Ovall to <br />approve the recommendation from the Beautification Committee to present <br />the award to Freeport Business Center for consistently maintaining their <br />property in an attractive and well-kept manner. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />6.2 Recognition – Jerry’s of Elk River <br /> <br /> Ms. Othoudt presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Mayor Dietz commended Mr. and Mrs. Minor for operating a first-class business in <br />Elk River for so many years. <br /> <br />President Tveite presented a plaque to Jerry and Thiry Minor commemorating them <br />as long-standing business owners of over 45 years in the Elk River community. <br /> <br />6.3 Apex Forgivable Loan <br /> <br /> Ms. Othoudt presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Wagner and seconded by Commissioner Westgaard <br />to adopt Resolution 18-04 and to approve a certificate of forgiveness for Apex <br />Design and Embroidery, Inc. <br /> <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />6.4 Directors Report <br /> <br /> Ms. Othoudt presented her report. <br /> <br />7.
