<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council 9.2 <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br />Work Session October 15, 2018 Michael Hecker, Parks and Recreation Director <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Elk RiverFest Proposal for 2019 Cal Portner, City Administrator <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Provide direction for 2019. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The first Elk River Fest was held Saturday, July 7, 2018, from 4 – 9 p.m. and offered a variety of activities <br />for families including touch-a-truck, carnival games, crafts, a slow bike race challenge, arts and crafts <br />vendors, non-profit vendors, food trucks, bingo, a beer garden, a demo area, and a concert. The event <br />was capped off with a fireworks display held on the Elk River High School campus. <br /> <br />Various city departments came together to make the event happen including recreation, police, fire, <br />utilities, parks and street maintenance and planning. In addition, a large number of community <br />organizations also participated. <br /> <br />The First National Bank of Elk sponsored the event. <br /> <br />City staff has reviewed their efforts from 2018, and have developed an outline, including sponsorship <br />levels, for 2019 that will be presented to City Council. <br /> <br />Financial Impact <br />N/A <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> N/A <br /> <br /> <br />
