Call Meeting To Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the meeting of the Elk River Ice Arena Commission <br />was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Chair Martin. <br /> <br />2. Consider 04/05/05 Ice Arena Commission Agenda <br /> <br />Election of Officers was added to the agenda. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER]OHNSON AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER FARBER TO APPROVE THE APRIL 5, 2005 ICE ARENA <br />COMMISSION AGENDA AS AMENDED. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />3. Consider Ice Arena Commission Minutes <br />· 08/03/2004 Regular Meeting Minutes <br />· 09/28/2004 Special Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER HALGREN AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER POLSTON-HORK TO APPROVE THE AUGUST 3, 2004 <br />REGULAR MEETING MINUTES. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER POLSTON-HORK AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER HALGREN TO APPROVE THE SEPTEMBER 28, 2004 <br />SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />4. Open Mike <br /> <br />Kent Madsen, 19312nd St NW - stated that he was recently at the Ice Arena in Des Moines, <br />Iowa and they had pictures of hockey players that played youth or high school hockey at the <br />Arena that went on to play professional hockey. Mr. Madsen explained that the signs were <br />made of vinyl and had a current picture of the player along with a brief player history. Mr. <br />Madsen indicated that he believed the cost of the signs to be approximately $350. <br /> <br />Parks and Recreation Director Bill Maertz stated that he would check with the Planning <br />Department in regards to the city's sign ordinance to see if these types of signs would be <br />allowed. <br />
